100% Nerello Mascalese from a single vineyard with vines 40-50 years old. The wine is aged three months in French, fine-grained oak barrels that have been lightly toasted. This is a light, elegant style of Nerello. Think Burgundy Pinot Noir VS Santa Barbara Pinot Noir. But with that light weight and body you still get layers of complexity coming through: tangy cherry fruit on brush and woodsy tones on a mineral-acid backbone.
