Banyan 2005 Gewurtztraminer Monterey County

Winemaker's Notes
It is our custom to cherry pick this Gewurtzraminer from an old block planted in Northern Monterey County between the Santa Lucia Highlands and the Gavilan Range where wine, fog, and cool temperatures predominate year round. Clusters are carefully hand selected for just the right ripeness, which leaves only the best grapes get picked. A long growing season and temperatures that rarely rise above 80°F create an ideal spot for such an intensely aromatic wine.

Rose petals, honeysuckle, peaches, and cloves make for a very aromatic wine. Firm acid and a luscious mouthfeel provide the structure to hold up to food. Slightly sweet to cleanse the pallet when eating spicier foods.

Serve chilled. A great match for anything spicy especially Thai and Indian foods like curries or tandories or alone on a warm summer day out on the porch.
