Japan

We work with the sakes from Joto Sake. We feel that they import sakes that illustrate the sense of place where they are from in Japan as the wines we represent do.

Joto is Japanese for “highest level” and it describes the makers of their sake and the aspirations of the importer. The breweries in the Joto Sake portfolio could also be described as jizake, or “local.” They are located in different regions of Japan, produce their sake in small batches and primarily use locally raised rice. They have unique stories and contrasting flavors and styles.
